LINET innovation vying for top prize in competition Czech innovation
A piezoelectric sensor for measuring mechanical signals from the body has prevailed in the first round of the competition known as Czech innovation (Česká inovace) in the category of Innovative Company. Development of the device is the work of LINET’s Vladimír Kolář.
The instrument is capable of detecting mechanical responses in the bloodstream and can non-invasively measure heart and respiratory rate, but there is potential for more. LINET is currently using the device within its comprehensive Safety Monitor solution, where it allows the bed to monitor patient vital signs without the need for a physical connection to the body (cables or sensors) and transmit data to caretakers. Thanks to this, worsening medical conditions can be detected in time.
With his innovation, Vladimír Kolář has advanced to the competition’s main round, which will take place on March 27 in the Library of the National Technical Museum as part of the festival entitled Czech innovation 2015, visitors to which will decide the winner.
