"The greatest demand was for top-class beds for intensive care. It was in this area that we have managed to target customers globally through a campaign aimed at nurses and biomedical engineers. The newest model Eleganza 5, which has received marketing support since its launch last year, has done well. As far as destinations are concerned, we have covered large orders in virtually all the world regions where we operate. We have supplied our products to the Indonesia, UK, Romania and we have even been successful at home in the Czech Republic," says Petr Foit, LINET's Export Sales Director.

One of the major projects realized in March was a delivery to a total of 44 Romanian hospitals under a World Bank tender that we won. Thanks to the operational program for the restoration of intensive care units managed by the Ministry of Health, 102 Multicare resuscitation beds and 337 Eleganza 5 intensive care beds will go to Romania from LINET. Everything will be supplied with all the equipment and an integrated active mattress for patients in a critical condition. "Tenders of this type always require flawless preparation and a complex agenda, and we are pleased that we have managed to beat our largest worldwide competitor and local manufacturers," says Adéla Vágnerová, LINET's Area Sales Manager for Central and Eastern Europe. "We succeeded in a similar World Bank program last year, when we equipped emergency departments with special beds, namely 625 Sprint stretchers and 459 Sella transport chairs," added Adéla Vágnerová.

As the Romanian example illustrates, the growth in the sales of mattresses, both complex active systems for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers and passive anti-decubitus mattresses, of which LINET has supplied almost twice as much as last year, is a positive trend. "Customers now consider us to be a reliable mattress supplier, and they have come to expect a comprehensive solution – a bed, a mattress and other accessories or furniture," added Petr Foit.

Our ability to respond to the increased demand in a flexible manner enabled us to open up a new plant in Slaný (Czech Republic) in the second half of last year. The new and complete operation includes all the manufacturing processes, from the crude processing of input material to the assembly and packaging of finished products, and it is designed primarily for the production of our best-seller Eleganza 1, a universal bed for standard hospital care.
